WHAT EXACTLY ARE GRADUATES?
I use the term “graduates” and “grads” because the term seniors confused people. It had them thinking we were taking photographs of the elderly, so graduates sounds better, right? I want to explain to you a bit about how things work when creating with me so let’s get started!
GRAD SESSIONS ARE MORE THAN JUST A PHOTOSHOOT, THEY ARE AN EXPERIENCE!
History Lesson: Grad sessions were an embarrassment filled hour with weird poses, awkward conversations and tacky props. They were photoshoots that took place in fields with couches, creepy studios and typically the photographer would share their uncomfortable vibe.
THAT’S NOT HOW GRAD PORTRAITS ARE WHEN WORKING WITH ME.
During your session expect it to feel as if you’re with a close friend, wandering around the woods, taking photographs together. We will listen to music, adventure around the area of choosing and get lost creating together for two hours. We are going to talk a lot about life because aside from doing my job, I genuinely want to get to know you and create a friendship. Let’s go get some coffee, take the top off the jeep and get out of town for the afternoon!

THIS ISN’T JUST A PHOTOSHOOT
This isn’t your typical photo session. We are not going to be standing there for 2 hours smiling, looking at the camera, counting down the minutes until it’s over. If you’ve looked at my portfolio, instagram or website, you’ll see everything is done in a very documentary and cinematic style. Do you think all of those are posed? Not at all. We won’t be doing the famous “now stand here, look and smile.” That’s not how I work and it’s definitely not you. I wan’t to tell your story the way it truly is. This is another reason why I don’t offer a “quick photo shoot”, there is no quick story and doing that only does a disservice to you. You’re going to receive a gallery of all sorts of different expressions, you will love them!

She made me feel so comfortable, at ease and made sure that the shoot was exactly how I imagined with her questionnaire and on sight questions. I can't wait for the next time I have an excuse for professional photos, because it was such an absolute pleasure to work with her.
